Town manager Mick McCarthy says the Portman Road dressing room was buzzing after Tuesday’s 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest but is keen to make sure no one gets carried away with the Blues climbing out of the bottom three. |

Guirane N’Daw, Luke Hyam and Daryl Murphy were on target as Town climbed out of the bottom three by beating Nottingham Forest 3-1 at Portman Road. Forest keeper Lee Camp should already have been sent off before he and ex-Blues loanee Danny Collins failed to deal with a long ball and N’Daw netted his first goal for Town. Blackstock equalised for the visitors after the break but Hyam slammed in his first for the Blues after Campbell’s penalty had been saved and Murphy added the third late on. |

Town boss Paul Jewell goes into Saturday’s home game against Huddersfield looking for his side to bounce back from the twin disappointments of the 6-0 thrashing at Blackpool and the Capital One Cup exit at Carlisle. The Blues manager is able to call on new signings Guirane N’Daw, Daryl Murphy and Paul Taylor, but looks likely to be without skipper Carlos Edwards, who has a groin injury. |

Town are reported to be considering renewing their interest in Doncaster Rovers midfielder James Coppinger. Having made an approach for the 31-year-old last summer, Blues boss Paul Jewell said he could make an enquiry regarding the former Exeter man at the end of the season but subsequently decided against reviving his interest. |

Town boss Paul Jewell could renew his interest in Doncaster midfielder James Coppinger this summer. The Blues manager says he will ask his Rovers opposite number Dean Saunders, who played for him at Bradford City, about the midfielder, who was half of a failed joint-bid also involving striker Billy Sharp — now at Southampton — during the last close season when the former Exeter man was valued at £300,000. |

Town travelled to Doncaster this afternoon for their final game of the season without former skipper Grant Leadbitter, who has decided not to remain at Portman Road after his contract is up at the end of the season. The Blues were already short of midfielders for their lunchtime clash with relegated Rovers (KO 12.30pm) with Luke Hyam injured, Lee Bowyer released and Lee Martin and Ryan Stevenson both having missed training due to injuries this week. Youngsters Byron Lawrence and Joe Whight have both made the trip. |
